Well i'm 15 and this is my 1st 5.5 gal nano reef..started 4 weeks ago and i just add some frags today looks good right now.

Info-

So its a 5.5 and 3 lbs of rock two colts, some mushrooms, zoos,a leather coral that i love...and i have 65 watts of lights on my tank..the canopy was made of cheap wood ;p not rly but it only ran me about $20 lol..and it did not come out to bad, but i'm thinking about adding one more 20 watt bub and taking out the 1 daylight and putting in a atic bulb so it will have 3 50/50 and 2 atic bulbs all coming out to be arounf 75 watt? i think..i have a deluxe prizm skimmer i got for $70 from my work.. lol that was the best thing i put on it yet..and i'm thinking about adding a lil fish lol..

Ok so i found this cheam at my work made by Kent..most the time i hate kent but i have to say it the best thing for nano's...Its called Kent marine nano-reef part a & b...best thing i found made by kents lol..

Part-a

part-a has salts of calcium, magnesium, potassium, strontium, rubidium, iron, sinc, maganese, nickel, cobalt, cesium, chromium trace minerals.

Part-b

Part-b has salts of carbonate, Bicarbonate, sulfate, tetraborate and iodide whit trace minerals.

Now from seacehem i use Maintains Calcium... the last time i used it in my take, and it went crazy in coroline..lol.. looked good so i'm adding it and the corals are looking good now so ill add it for ever :)...

Well i have some sinoc or w/eso ya time to get that out and make the tank look good and then new pics.. so look for them

Nick, I looked at your thread as you requested. If you want me to help you in any way, please ask but do so in plain english if possible. I simply don't have the time to figure out the phonetic version of your comments, nor the misspellings. I know you are young (15) and in a world that uses abbreviated text for text messaging, but you'll notice here on Reef Central we type everything out thoroughly.

lol i feel your pain im 14 and not the best speller either but the world goes on and plus who is really going to check over their post before submitting lol thats like a teacher saying look over your test when your finished and even though you have time you would rather sit there with your head down and take the grade (dont deny it people we all did it in school) lol

just my 2 cents on this (and i like to make people smile with funny things like that)

Hmm I'll join in on the midget party lol. I'm 16 and have a 40 gallon reef tank and a 75 gallon fOWLR and a 12 gallon semi-reef. I'll post pics later. My tripod broke so its hard to get great overall tank pictures.

What the hell happend to the $5 coral frags??? they are all $15 and up..but i can get a coral a lil bigger for $39....y is that???

Hey, pimp, (can I call you that?:D ) when you are looking at $39 corals are you looking at a wild caught on or a captive propagated one? In my experience, paying $15 for a tiny captive frag is a much better investment than a little extra for a larger wild coral. The capive frags love us soooo much more! Also, where are you looking for your frags?

My frags are fraged off someone i work whit but i cant get them or free from her...so i have to buy them from my work..even whit a 15% off it still runs a lot of money..but idk.. all the coral you see in the pics she gave to me but the rest i have to buy..so i'm looking at ather shops for better prices on frags.. i use to get some nice ones for like $5 and it should have been $29..they just gave me it cheap b/c i'm only 15 and in to reef and they think that cool lol..anyways i'm working on new pics...my colt is going to open i think...i found some new crap to add to my tank the the reef pack did not have...so everything is doing way better.

Well #1...I think if you would not have called your colt coral a "cult" it would not have wilted and been depressed ;)

I think your doing a good job so far...To get cheap frags try finding a local reef club! the members always have cheap things to sell out of their tanks.

:hmm2: Wish I could pass for 15 yrs old to get $5 frags...I used to work in a LFS & the owner did the same thing for young hobbyists! It's a good thing for our hobby to help bring in new reefers, especially ones with so many years ahead of them. It's also really rewarding for those in the business to see such genuine interest, excitement, and gratitude you young'uns show. You're so lucky!

yep yep i know...i work at one of my fav lfs, but i never real get anyhting from my work..i go to my ather lfs b/c they give me good prices on anything...i got my 1st sit of pc from them it shoud have been $200 but i got them for $50 lol

well i brock my 5gal after i drilled it lol...had it running anf then i saw some water on the floor so i made everything titer and it brock the tank :( so now i have to go get a new one
