its Tahitian moon sand i think. I have seen a few tanks with it. What would be cool is if you could get the volcanic sand from Hawaii although its illegal to take.

people who have used dark substrate have reported it gets very "dirty" looking quickly.

I have TMS mixed equally with Flamingo Reef. It looks nice, i think. I haven't had really any problems with it thus far.

I think it'd be like having a black car.... you can always see the dirt on it..... IMO dutritis would stick out like a sore thumb.....

It is pretty though.....

I have some in the bottom of my 10 gallon, however I am having some issues with my camera at the moment.

Hmm interesting well i dont have like tons of $$$$ to get tank fully stocked just be lightly stocked so if i dont like it just toss stuff into a tote and switch sand.

Used to have it in my nano, but it showed everything! Any pieces of rock that came off, ditrius, everthing stands out against it!

These are from when it was clean and it still has stuff showing in it...

Yep... it's like I said earlier.... " It's like the black car thing" Pretty to look at when it's clean .. but it's alot of work to keep it that way....
