Hello there. I want to know if a 20L is large enough for a pair of banggais to breed in. Currently, my 20L has a dsb and an ac150 for circulation and a skilter 250. What kind of filtration is usually on a breedding tank? I don't have lr in there anymore but I can put some dead acros in there for cover.

Sounds a little small to me, although I don't know conversion, it sounds around 10 gallons, give or take a few...

I assume you mean a 20 long versus a 20 liter which is what I think Wild Card is thinking. I used a 20 to try and establish a breeding pair, I initially kept my banggais in the 20, but due to some pairing snafus, I ended up with a pair in my 90 and a single male in the 20. What happened (I think)is that I had two males, they hit maturity, and I come home to find one all tatered and beat up, so I put one in my 90 reef to recover, then I introduced another fish, and they started fighting, put one of those in my 90 as well. Somehow I ended up with a pair in the 90 reef, I guess I had a pair at one point in the 20, But they fought before theyr ealized they liked each other. I don't know if it was tank size or what.
I just had a little hang on filter to provide good water movement, I occasionally would put put carbon in it, and a DSB. The water quality stayed good. I would surely put something in for cover, when the males are holding, they get very shy.

Oops, sorry. I meant a 20 long. Will this be large enough? I will add the coral pieces, as well as some artificial deco just for cover.

Hi:
I can recommend you do a search in this forum for that exact question, as we have discussed it before. Here is a thread for starters

W/ that said for me a 20LONG (I'm assuming you mean 20long) is too small. I will suggest a 30 at the absolute minimum.
However, I wil give the other hand. AS I saw a eclipse12 w/ a pair of banggais and their fry.
AS far as filtration, really anything as long as the current is not too strong and the water quality is excellent

PS I only point out the search becuz it is the quickest way to find the info you desire
