after painting the back of my tan, with Krylon Fusion spray paint, my bulkheads are leaking, between the outer hard plastic nut and the glass. i ran the tank full of water B4 painting the back and there were no leaks..

i've hand tightened them as much as possible, but am afraid of over tightening them... is it the paint under them that's causing them to leak??? should i remove them and scrape off the paint underneath????

or should i get a rubber gasket to go on the outside of the tank??? there is one on the inside of the tank.....

thanks,,,lisa

I dont think putting a gasket on the outside will do anything.

i drained some water and removed the bulkheads, cleaned the gaskets and replaced the bulkheads... submerged the bulkheads and so far so good...
maybe there was a "wrinkle" in the gasket........:)

i hope that fixed it.....

thanks,,,lisa
