thought i'd give these bulbs a shot, they're a dual actinic 420nm/460nm by sunpaq. they're a lot bluer/brighter than my old actinics, but the real treat is during the dusk/dawn cycle; they make most of my zoas fluorece like crazy:

rob- yeah i got them from drsfosterandsmith.com. i had to reorder all new bulbs for my settup, and these caught my eye

Guess what, I had a 10,000 go out today. Darn, I guess I am going to have to buy all new bulbs. So tell me all knowing one: what did you learn about the bulbs before you bought one. I am looking for 65 watt square pin 2 actinics and 2 10,000 or what ever, you know white light. I have read somewhere about the differnce in brands of the actincs but can't remember what I was supposed to do.

hellolights.com has a nice FAQ when you check out their bulbs. I personally went with two 10k dayight bulbs because (from what i read) they are stark white with no yellowing going on. they were a few bucks more on drsfosterandsmith.com though (for straight pin set ups). to "blue" it out a bit i went with the actinics above. i don't think they're beneficial for your corals, but they look good both with only actinics on and with the day bulbs on too

i've had this 65x4 PC settup since i got into the hobby, and this combo of bulbs gets the most compliments from my friends..i'm just waiting to see if my corals like it

Yeah I looked at Hello and think that I am going to go wiht their suggestions. Anybody else got any comments?

Jer, when I get a date for the meeting, probably as soon as next week, I want you to show me how to post pics. Anyway, finally got all my lights in the tank, I staggered them so as to not bleach them out. Man does it make a big difference.
