Ctenochaetus hawaiiensis

adult

the juvenile is mostly orange with purple tipped fins.

strict herbivore int he wild though they will eat meaty foods in captivity. will rasp algae from the rockwork. be sure to provide algae for grazing at all daylight hours. i'd start with a 6' tank, but others will have a different opinion.

don't confuse with Zebrasoma rostratum aka black tang.

The price.... OH MY GOD!!, $200 dollars in here!!
I´ve never owned one, but by the body shape, I assume it is as hardy and has the same habits as the yellow eye tang.
I think it is a hardy fish to buy, the problem is the price and if they turn blackish in time i think they loose all their beautiness.
I wouldn´t buy it.
Sohal, PBT and others are much prettier than this one except your looking to a juvenile which i think is just amazing
