Have been calling Home depot and they do not have any southdown sand locally (new england stores). The not so confident person with whom i spoke had no idea when or if it would be coming into stock. Any ideas?

I got mine from the Natick store. I watch for it and for the last 2 years I have only seen it from late May/June until they sell out in late September. Last I checked they did not have any but when they do they usually have 2 pallets in stock.

I purchased 10 bags of SD from the Taunton HD this past weekend.

It looked like they had about 20 bags left.

Though I thought I bought the last bags in my state, my home depot called me and said they got more in if I wanted it. I never picked it up so I would imagine they still have some.

Mr. ReefDoggie (Bob) and I were in the Salem, NH HD last night. We asked about SouthDown and was told it should be in within 1-2 weeks. If we see any we'll let you all know.

Have a good one, Mrs. ReefDoggie (Melinda) :D

Well, i could go to Home depot in Taunton for the sand and Fintastic in Plainville for the live rock, not too far from each other, at least in the same direction. 29 gal tank means 29 lbs of live rock right?

Probably anywhere from 29-40 lbs, depending on the effect you want.

29 is a good number to shoot for.

Fintastic is a good store, Barry (the owner) is a good friend of mine. Definatly "One of the good guys"

Hey guys, I went to the HD in Taunton last week on Thursday when they got it in. I snagged 20 bags so if the pallet looked half empty that's why. I am using them in a 150gal tank, and a friend is taking 5 bags. I plan on having at least 5 bags left over. I am located in Saugus and be happy to sell what I don't use for what I paid for it. I won't get to using it for a few weeks though......
