View Full Version : Mating dance of Blue-Green Chromis?

I have recently seen my two blue-green chromis, one a little larger than the other, in a 75-gallon reef, seen dashing towards each other randomly, then each will act submissively, only to finish with a kiss! Is this some type of mating ritual, or something else? It doesn't look like fighting, they don't see to be hurting each other, but I could be wrong. No other behavior is out of the ordinary, other than the larger one eating nori now, which neither have done before. The smaller one is not interested in the nori, still eats meat-foods. Any ideas?

mouth to mouth aka "kissing" is aggression. you have 2 males.

that's what I was beginning to think, originally there were 3 chromis of whatever sex, but then one mysteriously disappeared, prob due to the yellow serpent. Thanks for the tip- do you think I should add more chromis, like 2-3 more to alleviate it, or leave it the way it is?
