I have a chance to buy from a friend a used Knop HD calcium reactor for $300. just the reactor pump and bubble counter. no media or co2 system I have a dual gauge regulator and a large co2 tank laying around.
should I do this for my 120?
thanks

NO WAY! Knops aren't that good (actually, they are a POS IMHO), and $300 is WAY too much for what you are getting! (Don't even think they cost that much new!) SOME FRIEND! lol

You can contact Geo, and get a brand new reactor for like $125 shipped. I have one if you want to check it out. Even a LifeReef is only about $320... You will still need a needle valve even if you have the reg and stuff ($20-$80)

Dave,

Thanks,

Fishlover:

I just installed a Korallin 1502 in my system about a month ago. Supposedly one of the best on the market. Without the regulator and tank, the model goes for about $330 at MD. Seems like your friend might be trying to get all his money out. Not too cool.

Oops. My bad. He's trying to sell you the HD model. Should have read more carefully. That's a really big system. MD has it for about $500. How big is your tank? Do you need something that big?

It was on ebay and sold... I have a 120 like playfairs... figures bigger is better and wont have to run it as hard.... and have room to grow with lots and lots of frags.....
