I was just reading Knop's "Giant Clam" book and came across a section on Rickettsia and Chlamydia infections in giant clams???
This is not a book slam..but has anybody heard of these infections before? Knop has no references that I can find on this subject. Chlamydia in Clams? What the??? Not every intracellualr basophilic inclusion body found in cells is rickettsia or chlamydia.
If anyone has any references on this subject, please share.
Just think, next time you go to the doctor with chlamydia you can blame it on your giant clams! (Just like picking up the clap off a toilet seat!) yea right..
