Cheap Scarlet Hermits in Lincoln

I was at the Fish Store today at 48th and Vine in Lincoln today and they have the wrong label out for scarlet reef hermits....1 for 3.49 or 3 for 8.00 or something close to that. I thought about telling them but they are pretty over priced at that store so I said forget that, I'll just take advantage of the ordeal.

wow IMO i still think that is kind of spendy but i am used to paying 1.99 a piece for out LFS that was when i did have hermits now i don't touch them:p

You can say that again Aaron! About the only thing that I get from the Fish Store anymore is food. If I want something new I will make the trip up to Pet World in Omaha. MUCH larger selection and they don't get the same ol brown zoos and clown fish in every single week. JMO

In case you didn't already know, Petworld is moving. They will be in the same area, just a few hundred yards to the north in a different building. What I was told by one of the employees is they are planning on having about 150 FW tanks setup, and 150 SW tanks setup. It sounds like they are gearing up to be the top SW store in town.

I think that they are moving into that vacant store right next door, right?

Nope, into the build that is north of them, next to a little place called shirleys diner. If you drive by there, you can see some construction stuff outside. If you walk out the door of the current location, and look to the right somewhat, you can see it, down at the bottom of the hill of the parking lot.

Yes Pet World is moving right next to Shirley's Dinner as was said, it used to be the old Millard Theater. They will be closed Wed-Thurs (14th and 15th) for the move and should be open by Friday in the new place. There wont be quite 150 tanks, but there will be quite a bit more of both, especially Saltwater. I saw today also that Aquapets in Omaha is gone, did they move somewhere? That leaves pretty much Pet World as the only real place with SW, nevermind trying for the top. I guess the belevue store has some SW, but do they have enough stock yet to really count? Every time I am there they have nothing at all to buy, just a bunch of empty tanks <shrugs>. Does Lincoln have any real nice place there. I went to the one on Vine street and thought it was ok, but not worth the trip from Omaha by any means, any place there worth the trip?

Aquapets moved too. (kind of humorous they both moved at the same time!) Still in the same building, just all the way down at the end (to the south). Twice as much space, but I don't know if they are going to add more tanks or not. Dave basically said they will have more room for goods, like tank setups and whatnot. Plus they will finally set up that pond that's been sitting there gathering junk! LOL.
The last time I was at Pardise Cove, they had a pretty decent selection. That was a few weeks ago.

Paradise Cove is carrying a much larger inventory of SW fish and coral. They also have R/O.

well, possibly, but I don't really have the money (or the space!) for it right now. I'm trying to set up a 10 gal for my kids, and just need some lights (which I might actually get hooked up by hartdude) I will keep it in mind though. Plus, I still need to get a look at your tank to see if I can make a top for it!

To answer your question.....NO. There is nothing in Lincoln worth the drive from Omaha for saltwater fish or corals. Just us reefers........

By the way, I am from Columbus so I don't know where Shirley's Diner is. The location that Pet World moved to? Can anyone give me clue as to where the new location is? For Pet World??

If you know where the current location is, then it's not far. It's basically the same parking lot, just a hundred or so yards to the north.
