I got a couple of new corals recently. Just wanted to share some pics.

Todays buy - blastomussa (finally) and polyp combo rock:

And a closer shot of the elusive devil, already strutin' her stuff:

And this one I've had for a couple of weeks and is just starting to settle in - pimple brain:

While I'm posting, does anyone know what this coral is?

That's all folks!

Thanks. I wish I could say, buy I just can't put my finger on it. It kinda looks like an acan. On the back side of the rock, there is another one, except it is orange with green splotches throughout.

Let me get someone that I think can ID it for you.

I got your PM Dubbin. A closer picture of the polyps would help alot, I can't quite tell with that pic. I am leaning towards favia but need a closer picture to be 100% sure.

That is Blastomussa Merleti by the way not Wellsi. I am still leaning towards favia on that last picture though.

I normally don't like to plug dealers but since everyone on this board seems to hunger for blastos check out www.atlantisaquarium.net I've ordered some good ricordea from them and was always satisfied. they have some of the best looking blastos I have ever seen, best red color in a coral, way more red than most rbta's

I've officially got my first Acan eh? Cool. So that's why the LFS was so sad to see it go. I've been eye-balling it since it had a $59.40 price tag and it slowly declined in their tank. Then they put it in the $20.00 frag tank. YEE-HA!! Like I said it has a similar coral on the back that is orange and green. It also has some sort of brown encrusting coral and some zoa's. I'll try and get a good shot of the orange/green one for your viewing pleasure. Again, thanks alot! And Dwayne, since you didn't hook me up with any button polyp deals, no dice.

May I ask which LFS this came from? That's a beauty.

Ummm... something tells me I really shouldn't give the n ame in the fo rums here on Reefcentral. You or I might get put on double secret probation because they are not sponsors.

By the way, haven't seen any posts from you in a while. What's new?

I had to read that twice. I thought pig latin always ended in -ay. Between the new baby, a mini-vacation, work, and GOLF, I haven't had time to play with you guys. I only mention GOLF because my wife is watching me type this. That and I need to brag. I've been out 4 times this year, 102 @ Maumee Bay, 87 @ Hillcrest in FINDLAY, 64 @ Hidden Hills (scramble), and a 77 @ Hidden Hills. I'd say thats great improvement. BTW, my frogspawn has doubled in size and is approaching my hairy shrooms. Whats the best way to frag it?

Just start chopping it up with a dremel.

dremel with a diamond cutting wheel, best thing since sliced bread for fragging corals.
