Hi everybody,

I took this piccie yesterday and thought it was worthy of posting  . Chromis may not be as stunningly coloured as some other reef fish but they are still very pretty fish to look at. Mine's wearing some beautiful blue lipstick don't ya think! ;)

The pic was taken with a Fuji FinePix 6900Z, no flash.

Please post your Chromis pics too :D

Regards

Lisa

Hi Greg,

I love my FinePix! I have found it extremely easy to use and compared to my old SLR, this camera is a dream. I have been particularly impressed with the colour rendition of the pictures taken so far.

The Chromis shot wasn't particularly difficult to take actually. I think that my subject was feeling particularly cooperative that day. I positioned myself on a chair at the end of the tank where I feed my fish. The Chromis, being the pig that he is, was hanging out directly under the place that the food enters the tank. Smart fish this one :D. All I had to do was wait for the perfect shot. To be honest I think that luck had a lot to do with it actually ;).

The thing about Chromis is that their scales are quite iridescent. They seem to reflect the light hence I didn't need to use a flash to light the subject.

Lisa - Nice pic! Now I know this is unrelated to your thread, but I could not help but chuckle a little to myself when you mentioned your Chromis and lipstick in this post. Check out this article (http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/nm/20020215/od_nm/sperm_dc_1&cid=573) and maybe you will understand why.

Hey there Chuck,

Ooooooh errrrrr! Yuck! Interesting article :eek1: I didn't know that.

Well at least I can say that no fish were harmed in the production of this product, rather I'd say that the male fish probably had a very good time ;) :p

Better than bat poop they use for creating make-up as well.

Lisa - Yep, my thoughts exactly when I read it. Boy, am I glad I don't have to deal with that stuff. :D

Beast - Bat dung?? I didn't realize these manufacturers' were so creative when it came to cosmetics. I wonder what one earns collecting this stuff for sale. :p Surely isn't enough.

These Chromis pic's are making me re-think my decision about adding a couple of these fellows to my system.

Dennis,

Great pic, but I just wanted to make sure you knew that isn't a chromis. It's a blue devil damselfish (Chrysiptera cyanea). And once it gets bigger it lives up to it's name.
