I think if a seller has a minimum price they are willing to accept for a coral then they need to start the bid at that price.
A seller should not be allowed to bid on their own corals.
I'm not mad but I will be if it happens again. :smokin:

Well I'll defend Gordon here because I feel in this case he was justified in bidding on his own coral.
First off the coral in question is one of the 2 hottest out there; superman. Second at the last auction bidding was started at $50 by the auctioneer. Appropriate. This time it was started at $2. Gordon didn't get the chance to set a minimum bid and was visibly upset at the low start price. Afterwards on more valuable corals the seller was asked what the starting price should be. I think just doing this in the future will eliminate any problems.
Cheers,
Phil

Hi Kirsten,
Ok Ok. We are saying the same thing. Just wanted to make clear to those that were not there that Gordon wasn't given a chance to name a minimum bid.
Cheers,
Phil

That is so funny I was telling my wife that same thing on the way home. I sold the three Tort frags for less then they ever went for. But my non-reef wife in all her little knowledge said the same thing, people should not bid on the own stuff. I agree with what was said above, a minimum bid should be set from that start.
Hope we are all still friends!! :)
Ed
All,
From now on, if you have a minimum bid, it must be stated either in the post or a PM to me. Otherwise, it is assumed to be a starting bid of $1.
Thanks,

Hi,
Well I guess it was my screw up. I thought I asked each seller what the min. price was to be. Guess I missed some.
Will do better next time
Thanks,
