Anyone have any ideas on what this might be. It is the size of a quarter roughly. I have seen these in the wild and the guy I was with said they were some sort of corallimorph. Active only at night.

Thanks

I have some of those! Pretty cool little hitchhikers, and not aiptasia! They're non-photosynthetic corals, pretty harmless. I got Dr. Ron to ID mine at some point, he deemed them "neat." :) The biggest people have reported them are about an inch and a half. Mine stay smaller.

I believe the common name for what you have there is an "Orange Ball" Anemone. (Pseudocorynactis caribbeorum) Vilas is correct, they are non-photosynthetic and need to be fed regularly to thrive.
