Is there a decent one? BTW, you've got mail.

Thanks for the mail! I'm not at work today to get it as I took the day off to go to my daughter's preschool to celebrate Chinese New Year (she and her sister were adopted from China).

As to the oxygen tests, I'm not familiar with them at all. I know there are good O2 probes, but they are very expensive.

Maybe someone else has experience with O2 kits?

Excellent reason to miss work! Hope they had fun with you. They wil really appreciate it in their later years!

Bummer about the test kit, though. With Saliferts reputation, i think I will get theirs since noone else is chiming in.

Will the winkler method work for saltwater? WW

I don't know. I'll look into it tomorrow.

The Winkler method would seem to work fine in seawater. Here is an article that described O2 measurement in estuaries:

http://www.epa.gov/owow/estuaries/monitor/chptr09.html

and here is an oceanograpic study that used it:

http://www.ices.dk/ocean/project/esop/reports/hm0398/hm0398.htm

I can have a play sometime with the salifert kit. Also, I have an oxygen probe to compare it against. I'll report back shortly.

The winkler method brings back memories. Late night titrations of multiple sea water samples, much caffine and a few inadvertant sips of sodium thiosulfate from a pipette :D
