I've thrown together a web page to share my plans for a 120 gallon Reef Tank. Very preliminary.
Looking for help on my plans, hardware and design.
Thanks Bob

Bob, I looked at your plans and it looks like an awesome setup. I noticed you plan on using Mag 7's as your returns. Do some research on these, I think the 7's are problematic. All other Mags are very good pumps.

Sen / Sedra would be better options
stay away from Rio's also

Looks like it's going to be a fantastic setup!

As far as this question: "* 120-200lbs of Fiji Live Rock (need recommendations of where to buy)"

I have heard wonderful things about the live rock from
Tampa Bay Saltwater (http://www.tampabaysaltwater.com) .

Personally, we acquired our live rock from Premium Aquatics (http://www.premiumaquatics.com) , and the rock was great. I would highly recommend them as well.

Good luck!

Hi Bob

Try Paragon Aquatics at paragonsales.com They guarantee you'll like their rocks.

Tampa Bay Saltwater does have nice growth on their rock, but it is more dense, and often is loaded with Mantis Shrimp.
My buddy in FL hand-picked his rock from TBS, and ended up with 5 Mantis in ~40 lbs of rock. He procrastinated in gettting rid of the Mantis, and it cost him a few fish, including a nice cherub angel.

We're in the same boat. I am also planning the setup of a 120 (my first). I don't have experience to comment on your setup but thought I'd share what I decided on (based on RC feedback, reading through this /other sites, and some good books). Good luck!

Take a drive to Paragon Aquatics in Conn. If you talk to Mike ahead of time, he'll give you internet prices and allow you to come in his store and hand pick your own pieces. Bring your own coolers. We recently bought 68lbs that way. Most of it was fully cured but we opted to take a couple of pieces of 'mostly cured' rock as well. He had 3 types of rock when we were there - fiji, some tonga and valvu (? can't remember the exact name)

We are VERY happy with the rock. Lots of life, no shrimp, a couple of crabs that are easy enough to catch if you want and tons of coreline.
