I know there aren't many of us that are local but I thought I would put this up here to give anyone close by first dibs....

Here's the skinny....

This is everything that is included and what I paid for it:

Tank/Stand
40 gallon clam tank with 45 degree viewing pane - $300
center trapezoid internal overflow with 1.5" bulkhead - $90
custom black powdercoated steel stand (1x2 steel tube construction) - $80

Lighting
PFO 250w HQI ballast - $126
Sunlight Supply 250w ROIII DE pendant - $100
250w Hamilton 14k DE bulb (used 9 months) - $70

Clams
9" Derasa with standard mantle pattern - $50 when it was 3"
6" Derasa with lined mantle pattern - $50 when it was 2.5"
4" Electric grade Crocea - $80 when it was 2.5"

The total I paid for everything was: $946
Will let it all go for:
- stand and tank with overflow - $240
- lighting - $200
- clams - 9" Derasa $60
- 6" Derasa $50
- Crocea $65
-or take everything for $550

For those who don't know what the 45 degree viewing pane is for... notice how the pictures I just posted are more vibrant when taken through the viewing pane when compared to the shots taken from the sides. It is not as pronounced with browns but there is a big difference with blues, purples, greens, etc. This is how clams should be viewed.... from above. Their zooxanthellae reflects colors up so that is where you see the best colors. They are not reflecting as much color off to the sides so that is why the colors are more dull when viewed from the side. My photographic abilities leave a lot to be desired so you don't get a real accurate idea from these pics. The best example that showed up in the pics I posted is with the lined derasa. Notice the difference in the color of the purple rim in the top and side photos. The biggest difference is with the crocea but my camera does not want to take an accurate pic of this clam.
