Hey gang--Just to refresh our knowledge:

1) Before you can display the picture here it must be posted somewhere else on the web. The UBB software only allows you to link to the pic, not embed it into the thread.

2) You must use the link to the pic, not just the page that the pic is posted on. For example:
http://www.anywhere.com/reefpics.html is no good.
http://www.anywhere.com/reefpics.html/coral.jpg is good. The url has to end in .jpg, or if you are linking to a graphic, perhaps .gif.

An easy way to find the exact path to the pic using Internet Explorer is to display the pic on your screen, then right click on it. Hit "properties", and you get a window that shows the url to the picture itself. Highlight, copy and you are good to go.

In Netscape it's even easier. Just right click the image, and at the bottom of the window that pops up hit "copy image location."

Once you have that down, use the UBB code to get the picture displayed here. In the window that opens when you hit "reply" you will see to the left a link that says "UBB code is on". Click on that for full instructions, but basically all it takes is two tags, one before and one after the picture url. goes before and goes at the end.

Example: [*img]http://www.reefcentral.com/northernreef/images/65webfull2.jpg[*/img] with the asterisks removed from the two tags.

If you get into a bind, just go to a thread where someone has displayed a picture, click on the edit button, and you will see the code they used.

Lastly, if you do everything right and the picture is still not showing up, it may be the fault of the isp where the pic is stored. Not all allow "leaching", or linking to a picture in this way. Xoom, for example does not. Many others as well. Then trot on over to homestead.com and get a free website for this purpose.

Good luck, hope this helps.
:D
