I was told a yellow rope sponge and a ridged sponge, respectively, but I can't find much info on them.

Also, the yellow sponge has bubbles being released from dark spots on the sponge. Can you tell me if that is bad? Or if there is something I need to do to fix it? I'm attaching a picture of it as well.

Post this in Dr. Ron's main forum and he will get to it much quicker.

The chance of long term survival of most sponges you buy at the LFS is very poor. The places where the bubbles are escaping are necrotic (dying) areas in the sponge. The bubbles may be a product of the decomposition or they may have been what killed those areas. Many sponges are unable to clear bubbles from themselves so any exposure to air or bubbles can kill them.

You can read more about sponges in Dr. Ron's article in reefkeeping magazine that should be out this week.

Thanks, I posted in the other area. My yellow sponge is not looking so good today. I'll see what he says and then go from there.
