I have never run across info for a 70 watt bulb. I have only seen info for 250w or 400w. Here is a link for 250w.
http://www.rpi.edu/dept/union/aquarium/public_html/DIY_MH.html

i will keep looking and post what I find.

Thanks. I would get a higher wattage MH unit such as the 150w, 250w, or even 400w but the bulb will be going over a 10g and i'm conserned that the light and heat would be too much even for SPS. It seems the higher the wattage the less expencive the bulb up to the 1000 watt bulbs wich cost the most.

Thanks for your help,

BK

If this is for a 10 gal you might want to look at power compacts. 2 55w would be more than enough to keep SPS's in a 10 gal tank. They would hang over the edge a bit (22" on a 20" tank).

Just ran across this site and thought of you.
www.1000bulbs.com
They sell 70w MH ballast for $100
Couldn't really find a DYI 70w, but thought I would pass along to you.
