My Crocea starts the day ( under 150w 10000k halides ) with usual mantle extension, but as the day goes on , usually later afternoon, the mantle starts reaching slightly towards the light. Previously it was lower in the tank and never did it , now its in a higher position but with less flow and a very small amount of its mantle shaded ( about a tenth at most by an overhang) its happening. I will have difficulty moving it as its byssal threads are attached. Im not sure what to do, if anything. Can anybody explain what it is doing and if action needs taking?

Hello,
Lloyd how long ago did you move the clam up?

Interesting observation. Normally "reaching" would suggest inadequate lighting, but this occurred after moving closer to the light. Perhaps an email to Daniel Knop is in order. Be sure to provide plenty of phytoplankton (not directly, but in tank) in case a deficiency in lighting is the problem.

IME, IMO
