Ok I finally got the 125. Here are the specs:
125 AGA Dual overflows
160 lbs pure aragonite sand 2.5" DSB Plus about 5 lbs of LS.
about 75 lbs of Gulfstream and Fiji LR
30 Gallon long sump / refugium with a 3" DSB
Lighting is 2 36" double bulb 96 watt PC fixtures with 1 10k and 1 7100k in each.
Protein Skimmer
Duetto internal filters for flow (safer then power heads)

Livestock consists of:
1 yellow tang
2 green chromis
1 blue devil damsel
1 Red Star
4 Emerald crabs
2 fighting conchs
1 sally lightfoot (was in the calerpa)
1 carpet anemone
1 LT anemone
1 bubble tip anemone
1 Feather Duster
1 Sea Apple
2 Flame Scallops

This was all transferred from a 90 gallon tall, along with 50% of the water.

Before I hear it about the Sea Apple, just to let you know I did not know about how bad they were and lfs decided they would rather make a sale then tell me about him. So for right now he stays, just keeping a very close eye on him.

This tank was setup over a week, this is including transferring the livestock. I had to sell the tank so I didn't have much of a choice. The tank is about mid cycle, but it will still be at least 2 or 3 weeks before I will add corals.

Hi, nice pics. Can't wait to see when you have everything in place. You have my next reef tank.

Ananda, If you are talking about what I think you are talking about it is just decorator coral.

Jersey, thanks. We are trying hard to make this really nice.

On a sad note we lost our yellow tang.
:( I guess the stress from changing tanks got to him.

More pics to come soon. ( left the cable for camera at work):p

Watch out for the Sea Apple, it could wipe out everything in your tank if conditions aren't "just right".

This is my new addition. His name is Speedy. This is because he refuses to sit still long enuff for me to take a picture of him. He spends his time zipping back and forth across the tank. He barely stops long enuff to eat. Hopefully he will make his home in one of the anemones soon.

Hey Missy1101,
Beautiful tank! I'm in the process of learning/planning my 125gal. and was admiring your setup. Could you tell me more about your sump? How does the water flow though it?(from and back to the tank.) I see you also have a sandbed in it. Is this setup working well for you? Are you wishing you did anything differently?

Well we our enjoying our tank very much. The red slime algae seems to be dying off now. We have made a few adjustments to the sump as the flow was too high. We took the spary bar and cut it in half, drilled more holes in order to slow down amount of flow and connected a hose from each overflow to one end of the spraybar. They are now an x shape in the back of the sump. We like the dsb very much. After adding a starter kit on Friday we now have little critters crawling around in the sump and display. We also added teo little scooter blennies which seem to be very happy scooting among the sand and rock. More pics to come soon.

Yes it is a sea apple. In case you are about to lecture me now. I did not know how dangerous it was until after I had got him. The lfs didnt say a thing. But I keep a very close eye on him, and hopefully he will stay happy.

Just a quick update, the biological filter is working great. My params are all steady.

Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 3
Calcium - 420

With the exception of topoff and dosing, the tank is requiring very little work on my part. We will be upgraading to 3 250w 10k MH as soon as we get the canopy built.

missy1101
04/18/2002, 09:32 PM
As it is currently, since January. But it was previously set up as a 90 tall. The dsb and lighting are the only things that are new.
