Anybody else have difficulty photographing these guys? Camera is a Kodak DX3900. Let me see your wrasse pics. I know you guys can do better than me from what I've seen here. Take the challenge.

well i have a Wrasse but it's not a 6-line- and your pic looks pretty darn good to me.
my wrasse was sold to me as a Filament Flasher Wrasse but i was in another fish store a few days ago and they were selling one (that looked identical to mine) that they called a Carpenter Wrasse. whatever- it's a great fish- doesn't pick on any other fish and after one night in the tank it was comfortable- eating and swimming and having a jolly good time.

Nice looking wrasse and pic. What kind of camera did you use? Here is another shot of mine.

Hi Jersey,

I have been trying to get a decent picture of my Sixline for ages now. He just won't pose for the camera. I have plenty of blurred shots as he darts away in search of yet another tasty morsel to eat (what a pig this fish is). LOL

I can sit in front of the tank and the wrasse will come and say hi to me every time but as soon as the camera appears he's suddenly Mr Elusive

Here is my best attempt at a pic of him. If only I had scraped the coralline off the glass before the pic!!!! Ah well never mind :) Nice rear end of a fish though ;)

Incredible shot. I wish my wrasse would let me get that close. I would love to get a head shot up close. There is some much detail around their mouth and eyes. They sure are little pigs when they eat. I've seen mine run of with a piece of food half his length.

Until I just saw your last pic I thought the six-line wrasse was the sharpest looking wrasse. Awsome looking fish and picture. Here is another picture I shot about an hour ago.

thanks Jersey -
i was looking for a small fish to add to my tank- one that would fit in well with my clowns and coral beauty- and when my friend at the lfs suggested the filament flasher wrasse (he knows i love to take pictures of my fish) i didn't hesitate. one of the neat things about this fish is that within 12 hours he was out swimming in the open and took food the first time i fed the tank. the lfs guy said i should expect it to hide for a few days after introduction- so that was a great surprise.
i admit to choosing my fish for their photogenic qualities as well as their potential to get along with the rest of the tank inhabitants- i am a picture taking maniac :p

You want a pic of six line, I'll give you a pic of a six line. Unfortuntly my little buddy found a way out my tank through the back of a 2' slot in the back of my canopy to the carpet a few weeks ago after 1 1/2 years of enjoyment. RIP little buddy.

Added more live rock, six-line likes new rock work.

Jersey,

Just had another go at snapping my wrasse. It's not very sharp but at least I've got his head in the pic this time. LOL!

What about those freckles eh! :)
