Hello,
Since Southdowns is so illusive to find, I was wondering if anyone in FL would know where fine aragonite sand can be purchased in bulk? Preferably sand that someone has had some good experience with.

As resent as 3 years ago you could purchase sand at a plant here in Jacksonville but it has since been closed or moved. My brother went to Jacksonville’s sister plant in St. Lucie just two years back but it has also been closed, moved or is no longer open to the public. I do not know if there is any other options left in Florida. But it was my under standing that you can order Southdown now under another name in Charlotte, NC. It is now under a new name Tropical Play Sand. Check out these threads.

Thanks for your replies. I have been trying to find somewhere that can get me Just right or Southdowns,but am not having any success.

Although this isn't as cheap as Southdown, this is what I used in my 70g fuge (after an exhastive search for southdown):
