What ever happened to FIT's UT program?

Now that we have a diving forum, I have a place to do some investigating...I was first openwater certified in 1981 and went on to recieve my divemaster certification at the Florida Institute of Technology-Jensen Beach campus...About two yrs ago, I re-visited the campus and it was Abondoned!...What happened?
All the SAT diving tanks were drained and the campus was in shambles...Does anyone here have any info on the program or the founder-Charlie Vallance? {I believe that's how he spelled his name}

Cost reductions, Lack of student interest, Politics. All three were the reason Jenson Beach was shut down.
