Everyone we are planning our next meeting for Saturday June 11.
We will have it in our shop in Fort Myers. Hopefully this will bring some new people by having it there. You can see a map to the store Here (http://www.oceanenvironments.net/Directions.htm)

Time will be 7pm. Gotta give me some time to get from Naples to Ft. Myers.

I think the easiest thing for food would be pizza. Everyone can chip in a few bucks to help pay for it.

For the "Topic" we will do coral propagation. I think this will be an interesting thing to do. If anyone has any corals they would like to bring and do a frag swap I am sure this would be fine. I could bring a few Acropora sp. as that is basically all I have.

If anyone has a wet saw (tile saw) they could bring that would be SWEET as I learned some new techniques up at the show in Atlanta.

Let me know about the saw if anyone has access to one of these. If not I may go and purchase one.

Thanks

Dustin, are you the current owner?

No I am not the owner. The owner is Eric. He has owned the store for some 7 or so years now. I used to work in the Ft. Myers shop but now run the Naples shop that we purchased back in May/June of last year.

I suggest that people bring a beach or folding chair too. I call dibs on one of the cozy chairs that are at the store! (If I get to go, I'm having a yard sale that day)

Yeah some chairs may be a good idea. We could always use 5 gallon buckets :D

I have a small tile saw I could bring. I'll bring to the Naples store and show you or leave it with you in case I can't make it to the meeting.

Well, is every one going to be there? Haven't heard much talk about this meeting. I'm sure Brent and Ray will be there even if I can't (it's not like I really care about fragging~that's Brent's job)
No yard sale for me with all this rain, our street and driveway are under water!

I'll be there. I'm really looking forward to my first meeting. My husband says he might come too. I have a ton of fragging questions. I'm bringing some mushroom and clavularia frags.
See you tonight ! Mary

I will be there also,

I am looking forward to this meeting. I was a member of BostonReefers before I moved down here two years ago. It was an awsome club to be a part of.

See you all there tonight.

Well, I will be there for sure :D
I experimented with the wet saw and a Favia brain here at the shop the other day and I must say I am very happy with the outcome. The frags seem to be doing well and they were all open and fluffy the next day just like nothing happend.
Tonight I will try an open brain, galaxy coral and whatever else I can find lying around:cool:

I won't be there- it would be nice to have meetings during the week rather than tieing up the weekends.

It was a good night, and Brent loves his frags. We left pretty early though, I'm fighting off a head cold.

How did the bandsaw idea turn out for fragging?

Devil Man

it was great, it wasn't a bandsaw, just a wet circular saw. haha you could hear them scream.

What day is it that the store is closed? I'm still thinking about getting that tang I was looking at if it's still there that had the yellow stripe, forgot the name of it.

There is a new shop in town- possibly the best stocked (salt water & coral) in the Cape Coral-Naples-Ft. Myers area. They are knowledgeable, down-to-earth, & inexpensive. "Saltwater Solutions" 1035 Collier Center Way. Bonita Springs 239-596-8019.

Speaking of stores one day I was in the store on Davis Blvd here in Naples and I was told it was for sale and that some kid's dad was buying it for him and they were working out the details. I haven't been in there for awhile just wondering if anyone has heard anything.

That was Rick's store- Fish Central. He was a real nice guy, along with Bob who worked for him. Another store of honest people. one day he gave me an unusual frag of polyps for free. I bought a number of things there- chili spinge, clam, polyps, etc.It sold a week or so ago. The new owners say they plan on keeping it the same way.
Regards, Dawn II:)

So Bob is gone? What about Scott?

Rick and his wife was very nice people to deal with and I do hate to see them go back to Tennessee if that is indeed what they did. I'll go in there this week and check it out.

I assune Bob is gone- my husband was in last week, and didn't see anyone he knew. They may have been off that day. Check it out!

I have to sound off on this one. A friend of mine bought "premium live rock" from them for $9.00 per lb, and full of growth they told him. The only growth was anemonia's that quickly spread thru-out his 500 gallon tank.
That's just one issue out of several others I know about.

What other issues have you heard of?
