Hi guys, I'm new to all this and am glad I came across this forum. Its reassuring to know there are other reefers around this area. I live close to Florence and have been under the impression for a while now that folks up here can't even spell reef. ;)

If I'm off work the 11th, I'd love to come down and have a steak with you guys and get a little insite into local aquaria. Currently I have only freshwater setups but intend to go saltwater very soon. I just keep reading and reading and learning new things (not to mention contradictory things) and don't quite feel up to the challenge yet. But like I said... very soon. It would be great to get together to talk instead of type, not to mention possibly see some setups first hand.

Anyhow, if I come, I've gotta convince my fiancee to give me a hall pass and then I'm sure she'll want to join us. Just wondering how many gfs/wives/whatever would be there for her to socialize with (she likes aquariums but isn't totaly absorbed in it as I am at this point)?

And lastly, while I see activity on this forum in Myrtle Beach and I've seen the CMAC forum for Columbia, are any of you from in between? Like the Florence area? I see BubbaFish is... any others?

You are more then welcome to come! The whole point in this dinner is so that the females can meet each other. So far there will be 4 other women for your fiancee to chat with. You will have to come to our normal meetings. Its just a great way for everyone to get together and bs! Hope to see you at the dinner!

Hi Blake, Kevin (bubbafish) and Jason are the
only active member of the MB club and CMAC
that I know of other than me:)
I don't know of any other reefers in the Florence area, Kevin may.
I'm somewhat of a floater:mixed: I'm from Cola and CMAC then I moved to MB where I made some good friends then I moved to Greenville where we are trying to get a club going here.

I'm sure someone will chine in soon with an official WELCOME:D

I guess I'm not going to be able to make this one. My fiancee's sister is graduating HS that Friday and supposedly there is a grad party the 11th. However, it is in Conway so ---maybe--- I can slip out in time to get there but its doubtful.

When do you guys need a definate yes or no on attendance?

Nothing definate, we just need to know how many so that we can get a table large enough.

Hey Jimmy,
no worries on the date of the dinner. My schedule at work causes me to miss out on alot of things. I normally have to plan things 2 months in advance and even then have no guarantee that my boss will let me off work. Is funny that I have to plan 2 months ahead and then I don't see the schedules at work until a day or two before they take effect. Getting someone to swap shifts and come work on their weekend off is almost impossible, kinda like finding chicken teeth.
Hopefully there will be another dinner in the future that Tonya and I will be able to make. Until then we will be at the regular meetings as both of our schedules allow.

Rick, how is the progress on your tank?

I have a really nice tank sitting in the floor with no water in it. I am waiting on my good buddy Jimmy to finish the stand. I'm just picking on him. We have had a hard time figuring out the color of stain that matched some end tables that I got for the new house. He says it should be ready on Friday afternoon. I should be able to put water in it on Saturday.

Sorry I didnt make it out guys. I spent the most part of the day putting a new AC unit in my home and then my gf didnt get back from the wedding untill late!! I'll definitely see you guys at the next meeting... If I'm invited :)
