Carbon

Does anyone need to order more carbon? I've been using coconut carbon, but will try other types as long as there not dusty. Does anyone have an order they are going to place I can piggy back onto? I'm trying to avoid paying LFS retail $$$ if I can. Thanks.

I'm about due to get some Sea Chem Matrix carbon. It's like $40 for 4L or something like that... If we can get an order for over $100 or $150, there's free shipping at a few places.

I'm in for some carbon. I'll take the same stuff Dave wants. The last stuff I bought turns my filters black even after washing the sh-t for 10 min.

Just take a hike out to R.C. Steele, and get Warehouse prices locally?
(OK, that sounded just a little too much like an advertisement).

Seriously though, I rarely MO anything that I can get there. Prices are about the same, maybe a dollar or two more, but not by much. I've found enough "Steals" in the Scratch-n-Dent section as well, to make the trip out there worth the ride.

OK Kev, I'll give RC a call, but everytime I here such good things about the place, I go there and there aint nothin good "scratched or dented"! lol

Speaking of RC, it may be worth it, cause the salt supply is in need of replenishing...

RC Steele just hiked 50 gallon bags of Instant Ocean salt from 9.98/bag to 14.98/bag.Guess they caught on.Oh well-it's still a bargain-if anyone knows where it's cheaper,please PM me!Once again ,I'm running no carbon.But it could come in handy in case of emergency- lemme know what you are purchasing and from where,as I would be game for a deal on Matrix carbon ONLY!

FYI - I don't think RC Steele sells Matrix carbon, I couldn't find it on there web site. They do sell anothe brand of pelletized carbon for about the same price as the coconut carbon I got at CF.

So I'm guessing there will be a trip to RC Steele for carbon and salt. I will need carbon within the next 3-4 weeks. I'll go in on a bucket of Reef Crystals (1/2, 1/3, whatever). Who's making the run? I can front cash.
