This question might be too simple for this forum - sorry
I installed my new CoralHound dual reator about a week ago. I'm running about 70-bpm and about 120ml/minute of effluent. My dkh is about 11 and calcium is about 400.
If I want to raise those numbers slightly do I simply increase the bpm of co2?
Can you simplify the chemistry for me?
I'm using CaribSea crushed coral; my tank is a lightly stocked 180.

I can try:

CO2 + H2O <---> H2CO3
carbon dioxide + water = carbonic acid

CaCO3 + H2CO3 ----> Ca++ + 2 HCO3-
calcium carbonate + carbonic acid = calcium + bicarbonate

I'm by no means an expert on the engineering of CaCO3/CO2 reactors, but if you want to dissolve more calcium carobnate, adding more CO2 (more bubbles) sounds like a reasonable approach.

Other people with reactors can supply better tweaking advice.

Thanks - That helps. Seems reasonable to me too.
