Guys, I am going with the SE 400s on my 120. Is this the ballast I need to run the XM 15Ks or something similar?

Or should I go with something else? Let me know.

Tom- How do you like your XM 15Ks?

I've had my XM 15Ks for about 2 months and love 'em. I haven't seen much color shift, but then I see them everyday. There's no yellow in the light at all.

Those ballast should be fine for the XM 15k's. Just be sure you do a good wiring job, and find a nice enclosure for them. Not sure but I think Timmy had Magnatec ballast. Advance is a solid company with a good rep and product though.

Its a multitap ballast, so it is confusing as hell. I purchased about twenty feet of the 18 gauge wire. They make it with two wires wrapped in one casing which helps to make a more neat appearance. I used metal breaker boxes from Lowes for my casing. They are about thirty dollars a piece. The 400 watt ballast will barely fit into them but it is the best thing I could find.

You can specify whether you want the multi tap ballast or just an 115v version. I got the 115v version, lot easier. You can also buy them here locally at Cameron & Barkley. Also the one that hellolights show in the picture is the 115v version.

Jimmy,
Do you know what the price difference is between locally and Hello lights (roughly)? Where is C & B?

They are on 501, between grisom and 3rd ave. On the right if your headed to the beach. The price is about the same, maybe a little more. But you save on shipping. There's also an electrical place on cannon rd that sells some ballast. I don't remember the name though. Cannon rd is also between grism and 3rd ave.

Hi Rick,
There is also a place on Seaboard called Nova lighting that sells
alot of lighting supplies and at good prices too.
The multi tap ballasts arn't that bad ant the new ones come with instructions :)
I'll have to look and see how many I have left, see what you can get them for and pm me. I'll look and see what I have left.

The cool thing about the multi tap is that
You should be able to hook them up to 220v and use 1/2 the
amount of elec. to run them.
I never did find out for sure but I think the output is the same
no matter what input you use so the bulb should work.
