I got my live rock and sand yesterday. Filled my tank this is a shot after about 17 hours

The water is still a litte cloudy.

These are a few shots of the live rock. I guess some of this stuff is dead coral??

The guy I got my rock from (Steve) told me what these were and that they were still alive, but I forgot what he said they were. Any idea?

Cool! Make sure you take a turkey baster (or someting) and blow off the sediment on the rock. Good Luck and Enjoy!

Nah, hook up a pump (~600 gph) in your sump, attach a hose and use the flow to blow out the crevices of the rock. Sure saves the muscles over bastng the rock to death :)

I don't have or even know what a sump is, so it looks like I will be basting.

Willie, you can use a power head in the hand to blow it off as well.

Do you have a powerfilter hooked up? If not, the sedement will just sit back on the rock...

The corals that are on the rocks are SPS, they won't make it through the cycle.

It's a great looking tank!

Those acros died last year, actually.

The other coral indicated is a colony of brownish button polyps.

Later,
