For those of you wondering, these ARE venemous. Known as a Yellow Sac Spider. Most spider bites in this area, blamed on black widows and brown recluse spiders, are more likely from this guy...

Funny thing is I had no idea what sort of spider it was, but since I like spiders I hadn't killed a single one since I moved into this house. So the other night I get home, find this little guy (less than a 1/4 ") crawling on my counter. I let him crawl up on my hand, and go grab my camera, and macro lense. The next day, trying to identify him, I figured it out. Since I've killed at least 12, in a couple days.

OMG my hubby and I are cracking up  :lolspin: :lol2:

I really hate spiders (especially when they're crawling on me) but I do try to catch and release them outside if I can (whack em enough to stun em and throw em outside  )
I dont like killing anything unless it ticks me off lol.

That said I'll bring a can of raid to the next meeting :uzi:
Oh wait I remember one time when I sprayed raid on a spider by my reef. You don't wanna try that at home.

Awesome pictures by the way.

A mantis or isopod is bad enough !!! What the heck did THAT hitch-hike in with ?!?!?!?

I hate spiders !! I take care of anything with 4 legs, snakes, rodents, doen't matter what else, but Connie usually has to take care of the spiders :)

LOL No worries... they only come out at night. And I've killed so many I'm hoping I at least put a dent in their populations. I went around with a vacum cleaner and sucked up all their nests I could find as well.

Which macro lens do you have?

These photos were taken with a Sigma 28-80mm macro/zoom. It's really not a great macro lense, (it's only 1:2) but it works when I need it. I have also a 70-300mm Sigma that also takes 1:2 macro shots. They came as a kit deal with a Nikon film body, otherwise I wouldn't have bought them. Like I said, for the money they arn't bad, but I'd rather have better glass.

It was a little smaller than my pinkey nail.

Lol... I guess it came with the house. :D

As for the rodents... leave the snakes, and you won't have to kill as many. ;)

I found this guy on my floor last night... I think these are a little sharper. Anyone know what type of spider this is?

Hey !!!

Stop it !!! I don't care what it is! It's a SPIDER !!!!

I don't want to go to your house any more !!!

LOL

j/k

I actually liked spiders as a kid. Then I lived in Hawaii and met the cane spider. I don't care if they aren't poisonous, they creeped me out for years and I'm just now almost over it :) I still joke about spiders bothering me, but it's all behind me now.

Until I get bit by one :)

Well, it's not a recluse, but to be honest I havn't been able to find what the last one is. Recluses' actually arn't native to WI, and are extremely rare to non-existant so I hear(?) Most spider bites that are blamed in this area on them, are either from a black widow or a yellow sac (the first one in this thread.)

Ok, speaking of not liking spiders. Although I don't "claim" to not like them... I was eating breakfast and now it dosn't taste the same after staring at my photos again.
