Hi Randy,
What would been the best way of increasing my calcium levels without having with the ionic imbalance between alk and ca?
My tank has 330ppm Ca and I would like to increase it to 400ppm.
Thank you for your time.
Robert:)

Welcome to the forum, Robert:)
If the alkalinity is where you want it, then calcium chloride is a fine way to go for a one time correction of calcium levels.
If the alkalinity is low, then a two part alkalinity and calcium supplement may be in order to raise both, and keep them there. A CaCO3/CO2 reactor or maybe even limewater would also work here, depending on the tank load and evaporation rate.

I would just like to add that I am presently dosing ca(OH)2 via a Neilson reactor. My alk is at 10.4.Do you still think I can increase Ca with calcium chloride?
Thanks
Robert

Yes, with normal to high alkalinity, calcium chloride is your best choice.
