I was told that white Old Castle play sand would make a better substrate that what I have. ( About an inch of crushed coral) I couldn't find it at Home Depot in Green Bay off of 41. Does anyone know where I could find some?

Check out this thread. (http://archive.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=563675&highlight=southdown)

silver charlie just picked up some awhile back. You might want to PM him to see what HD he got it from. He said it was labeled "Tropical Play Sand ~ Oldcastle Stone Products"

Good luck and maybe someone else will chime in.

My wife called HD East yesterday. They said they put what was left on clearance and it was all sold last week. Let me know if you still discover any there.

Scooters reef, did you call the East Side HD? That is where I had to go to get mine, the west side store didn't have any that they could find. ...sc

Sometimes they just look right at it and say "nope don't see it..." They didn't have it the day I bought it either... Wish I hadn't though. I hated it. I am still getting residual algal growth on only the minut sand in the bottom of my tank. It's only growing on the sant. NOT on the acrylic.

For what I spent in effort and $ I would use some carib-sea or something better. I though everyone was trying to steer me wrong but I made a 250# mistake. Sucked getting it out - literally.
