English is such a work of art...

Consider capitalizing "polish" to "Polish" and it sounds different.

or the old bit of poetry:

"If the plural of mouse is mice,
How come the plural of house ain't hice?
Or if the plural of goose is geese,
How come the plural of moose ain't meese?

Actually lots of interesting history in these oddities should you want to follow it up. Makes the language interesting and entertaining. FYI, some interesting bits of information come on a program called "Krysti the Wordsmith" heard on Public Radio stations.

Cheers, Ron

What it all boils down to is that English ain't logical, it's traditional. Kinda like government (oops, it just slipped out). ;)

Try saying it a couple of times then you'll know. Willn't willn't willn't. The tongue kind of gets stuck to the roof of the mouth behind the teeth. Not a very comfortable word to pronounce - but then, neither is the word "comfortable." :D

My four year old says this all the time, I keep correcting him then I thought maybe he has something.
The correct four year old pronunciation of the word is "wilnt"
