Turns out my uncle knows the owner of segrest farms whole saler. I will be getting a tour of their facilities tomorrrow around 3:30. They supply 1,000 pet stores a week with FW and SW livestock. While I'm up there I'm going to talk to the guy about maybe having a meeting their. Hopefully they will let me take pics to show!

How about trying a joint meeting with the Tampa club ? I'll contact Chris (Tampa club pres) if you can get the OK from Segrest. Their May meeting is already planned but June or July are possibilities.

Apollo Beach is off of exit 240 on I-75. Its (and nextdoor Ruskin)the national tropical fish capital!

Yeah, it was hard to go and not buy anything. I forgot my camera and didn't ask about the meeting but I may e-mail him later on. They have a green house and another building for fish and inverts. there are about 2-3 more buildings with reptiles and a huge FW fish room. I was dispointed with the owners knowledge on his products but being a wholesaler its in and out within days.

Mostr wholesalers want nothing to do with selling to the public.I can't imagine him allowing anything more than a tour..Wahoo the FW guy on 14th st in the Publix plaza behind Sonic used to be a fish farmer..I asked him that very ? about Ruskin being the tropical fish capital and fish being Tampa
airports largest cargo?? he didn't think so any more..He thought many second and third gen fish guys have sold the land as the prices have gone up and the fish prices have stayed low...But that was him talking what do I know ..Sandman it would still bve neat to see..along those lines I read they were going to open the hatchery up at port manatee to tours in the sometime as the port expands and the hatchery grows and gets bigger
