well hmmm, so if he sell a frag for $60 then I would get $30, that is not a bad deal then

redpyro
04/09/2005, 11:27 AM
sps: you mean if he sells a frag for $75, no matter the size he will give you $15 because he says its small

marinelife
04/09/2005, 01:25 PM
that is not 50% then

Micki

He told me he would sell my anemone for $50.00 and will give me $25.00 for it.

I think they would be fair. Just my gut feeling though. :)

marinelife

Go back next week and he will have $100 on it

Micki
04/09/2005, 02:00 PM
As long as I get what I think is fair from it, I don't really care. I would only get 1/3 any where else.

redpyro

he wont sell for $50...pretty sure his GBA are higher than that.

Micki
04/09/2005, 03:00 PM
This was based on the size I told him. He actually said it sounded like it might be bigger than he is thinking and the price could be higher. I haven't taken them down yet, just called to see what they would do.

Andrew
04/09/2005, 04:15 PM
umm... Are their coral prices alot?

redpyro
04/09/2005, 04:19 PM
they are a little high depending on what you want,

i apid $40 for a giant finger leather, and $40 for a 5 lb piece of rock with 2 xenia stocks and a hhuge ricordia (i busted the rock in half and split them up, both good deals in my opinion...but he wants $40 for ugly crappy zoo rocks, $40 for small pieces of Green Stars, $40 for mushroom rocks, thats high, his clams are outragious $69-100 for smaller ones, SPS is like $75 for a little tiny branch (and he doesnt have any selection)

i dont go very often anymore but its hit or miss on finding a good deal.

Andrew

Micki
04/09/2005, 05:31 PM

I'm looking forward to visiting the new store in Springboro. So far, I like Gerber's for fish and Marine Solutions for coral. Marine Solutions has a good selection and good prices.

ohioreef

Have you been to Marine Solutions? Going there and the Springboro store would make a good field trip. :D

marinelife
04/09/2005, 08:38 PM
hmm, I said this before ohioreefer and was shot down, I am ready whenever you are

Micki
04/09/2005, 09:10 PM
I agreed with the trip, I just personally feel like we should wait until they are a little settled before we go as a group. Just my opinion.

ohioreef
04/09/2005, 10:04 PM
I wasn't indicating do it tomorrow or anything like that, just tossing an idea out.

bigfalcon36
04/10/2005, 06:19 AM
I tried to establish a field trip but the idea never really got off the ground becasue of conflicting schedules. let me know what you guys plan.

marinelife
04/10/2005, 09:35 AM
You sure you just do not go to the store and get it when you buy something

Absint Reefer
04/10/2005, 07:57 PM
I do most of the trade ins at work and we do give %50 of what we will sell them for but the more you trade in the less you will get

atreis
04/11/2005, 04:47 PM
Eh? Been thinking I would trade in all the stuff in my angel tank and use the proceeds to buy some things for my reef... But if it's less effective to trade in lots at once, I might rethink that!

Absint Reefer
04/11/2005, 05:23 PM
different for complete tank setups

Micki
04/11/2005, 07:42 PM
Different in a bigger way or smaller way?

redpyro
04/11/2005, 07:42 PM
smaller

Micki
04/11/2005, 08:12 PM
Oh well, better than nothing I guess.

Absint Reefer
04/11/2005, 09:35 PM
complete you usually get more then if you were to bring in everything singly because it's easier to sell

Micki
04/11/2005, 09:37 PM
Hey Carson, I'm bringing some FW fish tomorrow. What kind of prices do they have on Tetras and Neon Tetra. I think that's what they are. Also have some big shark thing.

atreis
04/13/2005, 05:33 PM
I'm not going to tank the tank in, just the fish from it.

redpyro
04/13/2005, 05:36 PM
your not tanking the tank...wow

jimmyp
04/17/2005, 10:36 PM
Gerber's is a joke anymore. dont ask the owner, john, about buybacks-he is cheap and will rip you off. plus he is also rude. he comes of acting like he's so much better than everyone else. their prices are outrageous.

marinelife
04/17/2005, 10:41 PM
I would guess you got screwed there, Note: I am not saying you are wrong

jimmyp
04/17/2005, 10:48 PM
ive had numerous bad experiences there...its all too common unfortunately. that place has/had potential. the owner really is a major problem. under different ownership they could be great.

atreis
04/18/2005, 04:55 PM
I've had nothing but good experiences there, and this was no exception. They gave me a good price for my fish (more than I paid, but that's partly because I only actually bought 4 of the 32 corydoras - the others I bred). I haven't taken the tank in yet.

redpyro
04/18/2005, 05:00 PM
maybe i should get back into breeding convict cichlids...those thing would breed in a coffee cup with 3 onces of water
