I did a search and found some good stuff on breeding mandains, but I couldn't find any info on sexing them. Anyone know the key to sexing mandarins?

Jackson.
If I'm not mistaken mandarins are easy to sex, I recall correctly, male mandarins have very long dorsal fin rays.
I will check on this

Jackson,
Can you pass on the good sites you found on Mandarins?
Thanks

Tim:
Hopefully you did a search here in the breeders forum.
There is a very long thread on breeding mandarins as a poster was successsful w/ repeated breeding. If I recall he also had photos/moive of them spawning.
otherwise you can do an online search for them.

Yes, male mandarins have long dorsal spines.
BUT, a short dorsal spine does not mean a female.
Sometimes the male dorsal spine will get bitten off in fight or broke in shipment.

Frank,
Yes I did read the other links on reefcentral. Unfortunately I need to update my computer as I was unable to view the movie.
Thanks for your input
