Gee, I hope you had to dig to find this one :D.

Gas is still high here, last I heard it finally dropped to $2.89. :) Explanation I heard is basically we don't have the pipelines to get the gas HERE, so the price probably won't be dropping too much.

That is just insane!!!!! What makes gas prices drop 1.24 in a week? News said the govt. is dropping prices because election week is 6 weeks away and they don't want voters angry about gas prices.

If that's true, then I'm really really sick of our current government. I think the Lounge Lizzards should rule to US. Cars should run on skim-mate and dirty salt water!!!!!!:)

(I'm still mad about the gas prices, tho!)

To tell you the truth, I am definately 1 not to argue politics but I really think all of bad gov. is due to apathy. Noone votes anymore thinking that 1 vote doesn't count anyway. If we all voted, I guarantee we wouldn't be in the fix we are in today.
I might be a little carried away in my thinking but my grandson just joined the marines and although I am very proud of him, I am just so incredibly sad:(

It's not the government doing it. There are only about 5 oil companies. They control the prices of the oil barrels. Think of Microsoft before they got in trouble for being a monopoly. I don't think we have the right to complain though. Europe pays per litter. When my sister was in France 2 years ago they were paying about $4 U.S. per litter. Gallons are bigger than litters. Can't blame Capitol Hill this time.

My theory is that the oil speculators are finally geting it handed to them like the techies did when people realized the pirce was WAY to high to be justified by demand alone. Haven't verified that with the price of crude (I'm far too lazy), but it works in my little world. The funny thing is i laughed when fox news said it would be at $2 by thanksgiving (that was about 3 weeks ago when the price was over $3).

Zactly. The government can't control oil prices unless they want to eliminate gas taxes:D

Nice thing bout the high prices is a lot of people discovered hybrid cars and thinking about alternative fuels. This was a look at our future. Get ready cause 3.00 plus per gallon will be back.

would love to get a hybrid car but we just finnished the payments on eric's truck (which he use's when he needs to haul something so it's not very often) then we have my 400 dollar ford escort that we use as our main driving vehical, and my first car 84 500SEL benze that i got from my friend few yrs back that's all paid now (but sitting in the garage cause i got into an accident. and idiot ran his red light)

but if we had the money to go buy a hybrid we would we both like them. maybe one day though.

Here in western PA its in the $2.3X range. I spent the week in Columbus, OH and while driving back, saw it as low as $2.04 in parts of OH.

Here in Browns Mills, New Jersey it's $2.24 up the road from me. I'm actually quite surprised it's not higher considering that Jersey is one of the most expensive states. I know up in north Jersey (I live in Central) there are still a few gas stations that are still in the $3's.

200 miles to the Acre x 200 acres x 200 cows, you could visit all the ladies.
When you arrive, you can say "A cow farted and I thought of you".
