Well I survived my trip to MN, more importantly I survived my trip to " The Range". This is my fourth trip up that way I am quickly seeing that Fargo is not to far off base.

Anyhow I managed to stop by Something Fishy and World of Fish. Soemthing fishy is great store. I can't say enough about it, great selection knowledgeable people good prices. I picked up a nice peice of Acropa ( first SPS bad ending) for $30. It was a big peice about 4" tall and 3" wide across most of the branches. World of Fish was a dump. I see why you didn't like it. Tanks were WAY over stocked. One 30 gallon must have had twenty Hippo Tangs in it and ten other fish. Most of the Hippos had large white spots on them that looked fungal. I stood in the store for better than thirty minutes and was asked to move about ten times by an employee, but never asked if I needed help. Really I wasn't the one who needed help it was the poor fish in the tanks.

Oh well thanks for the leads, I will stop back at Something fishy every time I am up that way. BTW they had a great peice of Favia ( Moon Coral) for $40 I all most bought it, but decided the Acropora was enough. Go check it out a great deal at $40.

Wouldnt you have loved to hold that employees head in a tank until he had white spots.

You definatley went to the better store in town. Suz won't sell anything until it's been quaratined for 14 days. Ask to buy a fish and they want to know about your tank first.

I was at both of those stores on Sat.(6/10). It was a joy to go into Something Fishy because I'm used to the crappy LFSs around here. I was impressed by the quality of livestock and especially by how well the store was organized. For example, They had accurate and up to date livestock listings under each tank with prices and a brief description. I'm jealous of you folks in the Twin Cities with such a good LFS in the area.

World of Fish, like Signu said, leaves a bit to be desired. They had some impressive and large show quality fish, but there were many of them crammed into small tanks. I also noticed the hippo tang tank Sig mentioned and it was a bit unsettling to see all those tangs nervously swimming into eachother.

If you go to Something Fishy's web page you'll see that they have a reef specialist named Craig, and it lists his working hours!! It's a small touch that really shows that they care about their customers.

I didn't know that they had a website. I just found it:
