View Full Version : A selfish plea...

Alright guys, tomorrows the big day. I have the step one of my medical licensing boards. The short explanation is that it's a seven hour computer test that can cover anything that applies in anyway to medicine. I'm fairly confident that I can pass, which is good since I need to to start the 3rd year of med-school. But I'd really like to do well since, the better I do, the better school I can get into for my residency (and the better location; ie not here).

I have an recurring image in my head of going into the testing center under a sign that say "Abandon all hope, ye who enter here."

So I'm sending out a call for all luck, good thoughts, prayers, sacrifices, or whatever else I can get, since I'm going to need all I can get.

Thanks,
Dave

Best of luck!

Will you dispense free medical advice to us when you're a doctor?

So once you ace this test and get your license, can we get some different colored pills? http://www.reefcentral.com/smilies/bounce.gif http://www.reefcentral.com/smilies/boldblue.gif http://www.reefcentral.com/smilies/boldred.gif http://www.reefcentral.com/smilies/yellow.gif http://www.reefcentral.com/smilies/pinkie.gif

No need for luck amigo, luck is just preparation and skill.....you got those basis covered.

Look at bright side: you can at least see the finsh line now.

Hey still say it was a not an offensive foul. :)

In all sincerity Dave hope you do well.

Good luck to ya, Dave. It's going to be nice to have an official RC doc so we have a steady supply of pills. :)

Excellent! You can get us some of those mood pills...You know, the ones that change color depending of who's holding em'!...That way we can give em to Q, and rest assured that he is taking the proper color for his particular whim at the time of doseage! :)

Have fun guys!...jim

Dave,
I missed this post yesterday :( I hope all went well.

by the way, you do know what they call the person that graduates last in his class from medical school????

Doctor

Seriously I know you will be far above that particularly unenvieable position. After all, your a reefer. And reefers are all the best at what they do, right????

Thanks guys. It's all over now. Let me apologize now for any spelling oopses that might happen here, since we're back from the bar. It was pretty miserable, and, by the time it was over, I wasn't happy or unhappy; I was just kind of numb (my friends felt the same way). After 4 weeks of straight studying, I guess it's kind of natural to feel that way. I'm confident that I passed, and other than that I'll just have to see how it went, since it could be great, awful, or anywhere in between. I guess I still am just a little numb, but between alcohol and this board, I'm getting some feeling back in my soul.

Ras, thanks; I think it worked. I was hoping someone would take care of the all-important rodent sacrifice.

Larry, I'll be the official doc for the board. But I think we should stick to Q as the source for the pills. I wouldn't want to risk my license on those. But I'll be happy to give him advice on which ones people should be taking (and make sure that he's taking the right ones, for everybody's sake).

Wayne, many people in my medical school (all of them not just here) go with the philosophy of P=MD (P meaning pass, since classes are pass/fail). I can't say for sure if I'm the best doctor in my class, but I'm quite sure I'm the best reefer in the class.

Now I think it's time for me to go stare at one of the tanks and vegetate.

Thanks again for all the wishes (and for giving me a place to escape to when I wasn't studying).

Dave

If you can keep a reef being a Dr. will be easy.
Good Luck!
