Has anyone ever been to Aquarium Adventure?

We had some time to kill yesterday between when the girls performed and the award ceremony so we went to the Aquarium Adventure in Columbus.

Huge letdown!!

Their prices on livestock were outrageous!! They wanted $40 for a cleaner shrimp, $150 for a 2-3" blue tang!!! And the selection was dismal, at least for marine. The freshwater section was pretty big, but that's not what I was interested in!! :)

Just thought I'd pass that along.

Ive been there before. I love the shark they have in the large display tank. I was shocked when i saw the prices. The highest i saw was $250 for a 2'' purple tang.

Well at least you know where to trade stuff into, to sell that high they must give good money, I heard they had high prices

Yes, they had diatom issues. The shark was pretty neat.

I nodiced that too. There must have been over 200. They need to do something about them.

They probably think that they are beneficial to the tank!!

I did like how they had the LR set up.

They have it tied to the top of the tank. Pretty neat. Looks like a cave.

I was looking to see how they did it and I think it was zip ties, at least the ones I saw.

It looked like the drilled holes through it and then put those zip ties through it and attached it to eegcrate or something. I wish i could have a tank that large to keep a shark.

I was more impressed with the Columbus store, but it was the first saltwater place I'd seen other than Jacks so I don't know if that impression still holds. I still haven't found anyplace with as many tanks and stands available, and they have a very good selection of books.

I don't know where they get their prices, but some are just bizarre. On the other hand, their Yellow Watchman Gobies were $5 less than I paid at Gerbers. If you sign up for their card you get 25% off which brings a lot of their prices down to almost reasonable levels, and they have 30-50% off on a regular basis (same for hardware). Don't know if they still give the card out free.

The newbie advice I've heard them give out is pretty reasonable, especially compared to the "you need crushed coral _and_ a big wet/dry with bioballs for a reef," that I heard at the LFS last weekend. [I quietly mentioned that there were a lot of options and pointed them at RC.]

The only saltwater livestock I've bought there has been a couple large xenia and anthelia frags for $15 and shrooms for $3 each. They did a great job of bagging the corals and insisted on providing a styrofoam box to take them home. Can't complain about that.

I went to the Columbus store. They had a great selection of tanks for reasonable prices. I felt the tanks left a lot to be desired though. I didn't look at their FW tanks.
