Planning my new clam tank out and wanted some opinions...
I would like to order an Aquaspace light (2 250 watt HQIs and 2 Actinic PCs) but was wondering if this would be sufficient. The tank is L=48, W=24, H=18. Since this fixture needs to be hung, the clams would be approx 24 inches from the light when on the 6 in. sandbed. Would the light penetrate to the bottom to keep the clams happy? Would the 10K bulbs be the wrong spectrum for these shallow water animals? Thanks for your help

I have my crocea between 2x 150W HQI Aquasunlight (2x30W NO actinics in fixture also). I've had it since April 2001 and it looks healthy to me. It is 16" below the fixture.
