havin trouble w/ skimmer

whats the trick to ajusting a back-pac skimmer.. either I don't get anything or the collection cup overfloweth....the directions are a bit sketchy:confused:

I have a bak pak and I will be honest, I am not a big fan of them. It should't over flow. If its new it takes a few weeks to break in and get it to work right. I put the flaired collection cup bottom about 1/4 inch under water. The skimmer will foam when it starts collecting enough waste.
I think the aquaC skimmers blow away the bak pak and love the one I have. If you modify the bak pak with a air stone that seems to help. Do a web search on bak pak modification. Its easy to do.
