I just wanted to say thanks to Larry (and everyone else on this board).

I have Step 1 of my national boards coming up in two weeks, and I've been starting to get a little stressed about it. I've been studying for 12-14 hours a day. This board has been a great place for me to come to wind down before I go to bed. This is the only board where I really feel comfortable being myself. I think the lounge has a lot to do with that, since it really gives people a chance to show aspects of their lives that doesn't involve aquariums, so I think I know people here better.

So anyway, thanks for giving me a little place to find refuge at the end of the day.

Dave

Anyhow good luck!

Best of luck on the National Board test.

Not sure what the test is, but best of luck anyway.

Basically there are three steps to licensing in medicine; they're USMLE (US Medical Licensing exam, or something like that), but everyone just calls them the boards. This first one covers the first two years of school, and then I'll take step 2 during my fourth year, and then I'll take step 3 towards the end of my residency.

This test will be me sitting in front of a computer answering multiple choice questions for 7-8 hours. It basically covers everything that a medical school may (or may not) have covered in the first two years. And that basically means that anything related to medicine in any way is fair game.

This one's really the biggest deal, since, from what I've heard, it's the hardest, and it will be a big factor in where I end up for residency; the better I do, the better school or program I can get into (and it's interesting looking at who responded, since IN, MN, and NC are all high are our list for places we'd like to go).

Unfortunately, there's not a whole lot about DSB vs. plenums, MH lighting, aquascaping, or feeding lionfishes on there. I guess there's a chance there will be a question about Vibrio or M. marinum infections, so that could apply.

Thanks for the wishes of luck; I'll be needing them.

Ashley, yeah, I've been probably doing more unwinding than I should, but that's the way it is (and I have to keep my tenuous hold on sanity somehow).

Anyway, back to the books go I,

Dave

Of course, it never ends, since I have the REAL boards (for me)coming up in a few months: American Board of Ophthalmology. These are the ones I have to pass to be able to keep a "real" job.

I don't want to turn into a post whore.

And I don't want to destroy all the crops every year.

Dave Oh yeah, good luck on those! I'm sure that if you've paid attention somewhere along the way you'll pass just fine. :jester:
