What exactly causes it? I've had it before in my 20 gal. But never my 55.

I'm sure I over feed, but I thought my skimmer would take care of it.

How long till it disappeared?

it popped up real quick after i started adding livestock and before the tank had begun really maturing. i battled it for a couple weeks by cutting light at first. that would worked a little bit. after reading on here for a while i cut my food back and reworked my plumbing returns for increased flow and it seemed to disappear as fast as it appeared.

It's been in my fuge for a while. Just today it started in the main tank.

I had it briefly in my main tank right after setting up the system a year ago. It lasted for about a month, then went away never to return (to the main tank). I overfeed and pretty much count on the skimmer and fuge to take care of the extra waste for me.

Did you do anything special to make it go away or just wait it out?
