This thread is for posting items you will be bringing for the April 2nd PROP Mtg/auction. Items listed here will be the order they will be auctioned - first listed, first auctioned!

Please post here what you will be bringing and be specific in terms of the item and number of items you will be auctioning. Pictures are helpful as well.

** NOTE ** If you do not post your items here by 9:00AM on April 2nd, you will be limited to 2 additional items on the day of the auction. This is necessary because of the prep time needed to get things setup to track the auction. Your cooperation is appreciated.

The auction will be at the Round Table Pizza on the NW corner of Ray Road and Rural Road. It will begin at approximately 2:45pm. Hope to see y'all there!

Here are some items I am bringing to PROP. I may have more but won't know until a couple days before the auction.

1-2 orange/blue rics. These florida rics are blue in some tanks, orange in some, and purple in some. They were orange but I moved them down and they seem to be getting more blue:

1-2 pink florida rics. These guys are bright pink with a blue rim and have a neon green mouth. Pretty!

1 Sinularia-type coral. I got this coral from Azilla. It is brown when extended, but as you can see, has neon green undertones. It looks really cool under actinics.

1 button polyp rock. This isn't the actual piece up for auction, but these are the corals. It is actually a favia skeleton with these polyps growing on it. These are great beginner corals.

1 sponge/green star polyp rock. This fist-sized rock is completely covered in purple sponge and the GSPs that first inhabitated it are growing up through the sponge. This rock is also home to literally HUNDREDS of mini brittle stars, so please don't bid if you have a fish that eats these little guys. This is a beautiful piece but I am going to attempt to re-aquascape the area and get rid of the GSP. :( Also note that you can't expose the sponge to air, so you'll have to be creative when acclimating it to your tank.

1-4 zoanthid frag packs. These will be packs that include small frags of several different types of zos. I don't have pics, but visit my website to see some of the zo types I have. Actually, I'll post this pic just because I like it. LOL

1-3 feather duster clusters. These are colonial feather dusters and will grow and spread in your tank. Great for beginner tanks! The "frags" will be small but I'll include as many dusters as I can grab. :D

That's all for now. More may be coming later. Oh and please don't write asking to deal before the auction. It has been a very long time since I've been able to attend one and I am looking forward to auctioning stuff off.

See ya there!

Three Prop Frags this time from my tank...

the first two are seeing an auction for the first time.

They are Blue Millepora and Purple Tip Formosa.
The third is the green with purple rim cap.

Just for fun, I've added growth pics... the first three pics are what is in my tank today, which the frags will be cut from, the second three are what we got to start with a little less than a year ago...
(this is what I mean about patience in this hobby).

See you Saturday!

By the way, neither the formosa or the milli photographed well, mostly due to placement directly under a MH and well, I am woefully defcient at taking photos of stuff in my tank, but they are both BEAUTIFUL in person.
The Formosa is basically blue with purple tips too, it's a fantastic coral, something anyone who has been to my place in the last year can attest to.

I will be bringing 2-3 kenya tree coral frags (approx 2" each, possibly bigger), 2-3 xenia frags (2-3" or larger) and 2-3 leather frags (not sure how big). The xenia and kenya tree are fairly standard and I don't have any good pics of them right now. Here is a pic of leather (the mother colony the frags will be taken from)- it isn't great because my camera is ancient - it looks nicer in person (a bright light yellow colour)....

Dave,

Great idea. Bring two. I will bring the money that I saved by not going to the Mexico trip planned for this week-end.

If people with good established DSB's could bring a cup of sand from your tank then I would be happy to buy as much as I can. I'm trying to get my sandbed going as best I can.

Crystal, if you can grab a bunch of those mini stars then I'll buy those off you too. Thanks!

Prolly Anthelia. It is close growing to the rock. Not a fast grower but hardy and hard to kill (even if you want to) ;) It is pale lavender to whitish. Not tan/cream. Great Pulser.

Can I bring fish and full size corals to the auction??

CrystalAZ
04/02/2005, 01:41 PM
Sure. People bring all kinds of stuff. :)

If your fish are damsels or invert-eaters, it is possible nobody will buy them (but they still may). In that case, you can always take them over to Ocean Art after the auction.

Unless your full-size corals are xenia or kenya trees, those will definitely sell. :D Heck, maybe even if they are xenia or kenya trees.

Post what you are bringing here ASAP so the PROP guys can add you to the auction list.

Well, first I wasn't going... then, I had a chance to go. I almost got away to make it down there for the auction, but something just HAD to come up last minute. :( Maybe next time.
