Hi,
I asked this question in another forum and didn't really get any info but thought I would post it here because I have been thinking along the lines of a new pico project - my 2gal isn't challenging enough anymore :p . You know those dosing pumps that have two drip sets, advertised as a good way to dose two part suppliments?
My question is: if both lines are set at the same drip rate, is it accurate enough that the amounts from each line will be exactly equal or will one wind up dosing faster than the other? If so, will it be a big difference? Any experience would be great.
Thanks,

- Chad

I think its safe to say that both will be exactly the same rate. If you get a medical dosing pump then they have to drip at the exact rate that is entered. I'd hate to be the patient that's hooked up to an IV doser that isn't acurate. lol

FWIW, I've had my dosing pump for about a month and I'm really really happy with it. Its keeping my calcium at 500 ppm and alkalinity at 10 dkh. The only thing I have to do is shake the bottles every day or two.

Thanks for the tip Yoda! It sounds like I would be able to use one of these in an upcoming project. You get yours off ebay?
Thanks,

Nope, a friend had an old one that he used in the past. I was kinda worried about buying one from ebay b/c you never know if they're gonna work properly. There's no guarantee on used medical equipment.

Here's a link to the one I have:

YodaHart:

Although you're correct about most of the medical pumps sold on ebay, I believe there's an exception. As "tanksalot" on ebay, I've been selling dosing pumps for over 2 years, and have had 0 negative or neutral feedbacks after 621 feedbacks received. (my only negative feedback was when I was the buyer and I didn't get what I paid for.) If you read the comments I've received, you'll see quite a few happy customers. Very, very rarely I have to give a refund when things do not work out well, but 95% of the time or better my customers are very, very pleased. I don't believe there are ANY unhappy customers whose money I still have.

If you go to <http://www.innovativeaquatics.com> you'll see the Nautilis II, which will do everything a reef hobbiest would ever need done at a price most can afford.

Once I get some money together I plan on swinging by your auction. Here is a link to the new project I am planning:
