im actually in the process of setting up a 2.5 gal nano. im not going with any fish just doing inverts. I was thinkuing some hermits and a sexy shrimp. not sure yet...have plenty of time to decide as its gotta cycle tho i could just get everything from my 55 reef. I think having a fish in it would just make it too dern hard. also gonna put zoos and shrooms in it.

A Boxing crab and sexy shrimp would be cool.

If I was going to set one up I would do inverts, I agree that I think fish would be too difficult to maintain and almost kinda mean. Go with some cool shrimp and some snails/crabs.

What about a harlequin (sp) shrimp, the ones that eat starfish feet?

I would go with zoos, polyps, and maybe a ricordea or two. A small shrimp would be nice either a sexy or a peppermint and the usual cleanup crew.

yea i originally bought mine for a clown for my dughter but decided against a fish...i think more on cruelty than on stability. i was gonna put it in her room but have since decided to keep it on my desk next to monitor. was also gettin maybe a 5 gallon to set up on the other side of my monitor. Shhhh....dont tell my gf!

I don't think that 2.5 gallons is comfortable for any goby. I mean that is not a lot of space. That is like us living in a van. That is why I voted for zoos

On the other hand, if the goby and/or shrimp is tank raised, then it won't know any difference. So it is up to you, but i kinda try to look at it thru their eyes.

Just my $.02

I'd say vairious soft corals (like Sinularia, Nephthya, Cladellia, Sarcophyton, Capnella, etc.) with some zoos with a tank bred/raised shrimp or crab (like Xandernfs said).

I'd say a pink-bar goby (Cryptocentrus aurora) with a randall's pistol shrimp (Alpheus randalli) shrimp

Both look interesting and some-what exotic. The shrimp is red, yellow and white. searcing on google would be pretty productive.

im in va but the yellow watchman is too big for a 2.5 im leanin towards a pistol shrimp goby with zoos as the only corals

i am also thinking of only using small pieces of tonga branch lr so there will be plenty o caves for whatever i get and some small holes for mushroosm or zoos so does anyone have any advice on how to hodl the lr where i want it? can i use super glue gel since it wont be very small pieces and is less than a foot tall or will this now hold i dont wanna use that epoxy stuff cuz its way too expensive

I've got a minibow 2.5. It's got a few corals right now and a gorgonian. I need to go get some tonga type frags and do a little landscaping before I add the livestock but I was thinking a clown goby and sexy shrimp. I am thinking of setting up another small tank in the future for dwarf seahorses.

mine only has 13 watts right now but i might add more later and does anyone know if superflue gel will be strong enough to hold the rocks together if they are in small pieces?
